The question
A shop that lists it, or an experience that introduces it?
I was following the Half Million tumblers on TikTok: four colours, two sizes, a laser-engraved name. A product built on personal choice, usually shown as a grid of near-identical photos. So I asked: what if the launch made choosing itself the experience?
The order
Colour first, then size.
Instead of 8 equal products, a chapter per colour, then size: 355 ml or 500 ml. One decision at a time.
Material
Matte and soft, never glossy.
Any gloss would have made the cups look cheap, so I tuned material and light to read matte, and printed the mark in a deeper shade of the cup’s own colour.
Engraving
Your name, engraved on the cup.
Visitors type their name and it appears as if truly engraved, revealing steel beneath the coating.
How it was built
From a question to a live prototype.
- 01
References
I studied Awwwards pacing without borrowing any signature; this project’s transition is the lid ring.
- 02
Building with AI
I describe scene and motion, then review and direct changes until it matches the vision.
- 03
Technology
Three.js for the scene, GSAP for motion, deployed on Vercel.
Outcome
A live interactive prototype, not a commercial product.
The prototype covers all four colours, both sizes, the details and engraving, and runs on the web now.
Delivered
- A 3D launch experience
- Colour chapters, then sizes
- Interactive engraving
